There are a wide variety of pump switches and they can vary from the manufacture of different types of pump equipment. All pumps will come with a pump switch. Some are attached hard wired directly to the pump, while some are modular or separate.

There are a wide variety of sump pump manufactures, all with a difference in devices they use for switches to control their pump motors, to the products they use manufacturing the pumps themselves, and they would each like to have you believe their pump product is the best on Earth. However, most are NOT, and even the finest of pumps have a limited life-span. “Nothing lasts forever.”

We recommend home owners self-test all your sump pump equipment 3-4 times a year to help ensure proper function and use. The Best time to do this is during a heavy storm event, so you can see how well the pump is working against the amount of rain that’s present, and you don’t have to carry pails of water or artificially fill it using a garden hose.

Your sump pump is a very important piece of equipment for the health of your home. Unfortunately, it is all too easy to forget about, usually resulting in poor, unhealthy conditions for the home, if not flooding it! Like furnaces, air conditioners and other appliances of the home, we recommend a yearly service visit for all your sump pumps, sewer ejector pumps, and battery back-up equipment.
